From humble beginnings , Mr. Vaughn spent his early childhood growing up around the movie industry in southern California. During high school he volunteered at a local marine museum where he developed a love of all things aquatic. After graduation from University he went to work in the Aerospace Industry and later High Tech. After earning a Masters degree, he spent years working and living overseas, in England first and later the middle east where he spent his free time exploring lesser known archeology sites.
He was stationed on an American forward Air Force Base in Turkey when the United States invaded Afghanistan. 18 months later he retired from a strenuous life of travel and field work into academia where he finally had the time to indulge his interests in History, Science, Art, Fine Food, Cocktails and a bit of mountain climbing.
He has always been an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction since age 9. Among his favorite authors are Raymond Chandler, Ray Bradbury, Ian Fleming, Philip K Dick, Len Deighton, Robert Heinlein, Simon Winchester, and Richard P Feynman.
